Frequently asked questions.

Who is this course for?

This class is for the romantics, the full moon ponderers, people who still have their eclipse glasses, those who look up and wonder, those who want to know our place in the cosmos, people who look for falling stars (and not just to make a wish), people who wonder about Area 51, and especially those who want to know more about astronomy than the planets and constellations. Whether you have a backyard telescope or you just think space is kinda cool, you’ll find your community here.

Do you offer scholarships/price reductions on your courses?

Education should be accessible to everyone and not just to those who can afford it. We have a limited number of scholarships available per course. To apply, fill out this Google Form:

What if I can only attend some of the events?

Miss the secrets of the Universe? Really? Please check your availability before registering for the course as we do not provide refunds for partial attendance and the classes are not recorded.

Do I have to pay for each member of my family?

No, registration for the event is by group, assuming you’re all connecting from the same computer. We think families will have the best experience by joining together and exploring the material together. Talk about it at breakfast the next day. Slip fun astronomy-related notes into your kids’ lunch boxes. We’ve got lots of ideas on how astronomy can bring you closer.

Will these sessions be recorded?

No, none of the classes will be recorded in order to respect everyone’s privacy.

Is the material going to be hard to understand?

No worries. We’re thinking this will be closer to Huffington Post than the Wall Street Journal. That is to say, the content was originally developed to teach the Universe to impressionable, sometimes hung-over, college freshmen. If you’re understanding this FAQ so far then you’ll be just fine.

What do I need for this course?

IMG-0759 (1).JPG

All you need is an open mind to big ideas, a computer or smartphone, internet connection, a comfortable place to sit, and an optional tin foil hat for day 4. Oh, and we’ll be using Zoom so make sure that your computer/smartphone has the Zoom app.

How much does it cost?

Cost of admission for our 5-session-program is $100 per participant (or family group).

What times are the course?

Classes will be every Wednesday from 7pm-8:30pm for 5 consecutive weeks.
