What to expect from our courses
Each course will consist of five sessions, all taught on the same night of the week for five consecutive weeks. Think of this like a nice alternative to America’s Got Talent - Pandemic Edition. Sessions are taught in Zoom meetings with a separate topic being covered each night. The sessions are stand-alone and do not depend on each other, so missing one is unfortunate, but won’t seriously affect your understanding of future material.
Each session will consist of an approximately one-hour introduction and discussion of that day’s topic by the host, Grant Wilson. This won’t be a dry and boring lecture. You will be invited to ask questions via chat, have breakout discussions with other participants, and wave frantically at the screen if you’re not following something. (Remember, this is a no shame zone so we will offer special recognition to the attendee with the best Horshack-inspired attention-getter. And yes, we target all demographics with our wit here at Dark Sky Theater.)
Following the lecture will be a question and answer period where we will field questions that weren’t covered earlier. We expect this to last about a half-hour and maybe even longer if the questions take us in unexpected directions. This is often where some of the most interesting opinions get expressed (and why we don’t record our courses).
People of all ages can join and even though we’re talking about big ideas with content geared towards adults and older teens, we hope that the experience will be entertaining and educational for teens, adults, and everyone in between.
The cost of admission is $100. For that you can attend the whole 5-class course.
